Dualed SynopsisTwo of you exist. Only one will survive.

The city of Kersh is a safe haven, but the price of safety is high. Everyone has a genetic Alternate—a twin raised by another family—and citizens must prove their worth by eliminating their Alts before their twentieth birthday. Survival means advanced schooling, a good job, marriage—life.

Fifteen-year-old West Grayer has trained as a fighter, preparing for the day when her assignment arrives and she will have one month to hunt down and kill her Alt. But then a tragic misstep shakes West’s confidence. Stricken with grief and guilt, she’s no longer certain that she’s the best version of herself, the version worthy of a future. If she is to have any chance of winning, she must stop running not only from her Alt, but also from love . . . though both have the power to destroy her.

My Thoughts: When I read the synopsis for Dualed I was super interested in the concept of the Alts and how that would play out. I think that the whole Alt system is crazy just for that fact that kids have to kill a kid who looks just like them in order to live.

I love West’s character. She is such a strong character and the way she handles the things that get thrown at her is great. I feel like Chord’s character is the perfect balance to West. I love him and the way things play out in both books between West and Chord. With the way things ended in Dualed there wasn’t much info given on the whole Alt situation so I was looking forward to finding out if my questions would get answered in Divided and thankfully they were. You find out so much more back story in Divided on the Alt system. The only problem I had with Divided was the ending. As of now these are the only two books in this series but things were left a little open ended so that maybe there could be a third book one day. I wouldn’t be opposed to there being another book because I want to know what happens after the way things go and end in Divided.
