Synopsis: A romantic and empowering book about bullying
Noelle’s life is all about survival. Even her best friend doesn’t know how much she gets bullied, or the ways her mom neglects her. Noelle’s kept so much about her life a secret for so long that when her longtime crush Julian Porter starts paying attention to her, she’s terrified. Surely it’s safer to stay hidden than to risk the pain of a broken heart. But when the antagonism of her classmates takes a dramatic turn, Noelle realizes it’s time to stand up for herself–and for the love that keeps her holding on.
My Thoughts: I had this book read in an hour and a half! It was pretty good. It was nice to see how the main character grew and started standing up for her self throughout the book. I hate bullying and this book did a good job at showing how nasty bullying can be and the way that the main girl was able to become a strong person and start standing up for herself. As someone who wasn’t a part of the popular crowd in high school and who has gone though periods of being bullied as well I think that bullying needs to end and it’s nice that there are books that bring light to that. If you or anyone you know is going through being bullied, depression or considering suicide please seek help. There are people out there who care and want to help make things better.
